Bio: B. Maurice Ward is a social justice visionary with 10+ years of experience cultivating equity-focused programs and partnerships to benefit youth, families, and communities. Transformational leader recognized for applying best practices, cutting-edge technologies, and success tracking to drive results. Passionate about improving the lives of underserved populations by reducing disproportionality through progressive program and policy changes.
Maurice is currently the Principal Consultant for Cardinal Consulting, LLC, bringing experienced network and tactics developed in Human Services and Government/ Non-Profit sectors to further ignite thought-leadership for Fortune 500 - SMB employee, vendor, and product D&I strategy and implementation. A trusted advisor, skilled at inspiring others to action with a balance of empathy and the use of exceptional analytic abilities.
Maurice formerly served as the Models for Change (MfC) Administrator and Juvenile Justice Program Administrator for DSHS- Rehabilitation Administration (RA) and former Executive Director for Multicultural Counseling Services, Ltd. in Seattle. Maurice currently works to create a more culturally conducive, coordinated, and effective response for youth and families involved in the juvenile justice, child welfare, behavioral health, human service, and educational systems.
Maurice served as a member of the Washington Partnership Council on Juvenile Justice (WA-PCJJ), Co-chair of the Disproportionate Minority Contact (DMC) Committee, and supportive member of the Behavioral Health Committee as well. Maurice is a licensed Chemical Dependency Professional (CDP), Certified Advisor (CV), Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT) Instructor, and has extensive knowledge and experience in the solution-focused approach to substance abuse, case management, gang intervention & prevention, racial & ethnic disparities, and mentoring youth and adults who are involved in the juvenile/adult justice system, involved in gangs and other illegal activities.
Maurice also previously served as VP of Business Development and was responsible for developing strategic partnerships with stakeholders that could benefit from Anatra's products. Maurice kept a sharp eye on industry trends and customer needs and reported that input back into the engineering cycle to help ensure Anatra was always building products their customers found valuable.
Maurice provided oversight of Anatra's day to day sales operations managing outbound sales leads and opportunities. He led Anatra's proposal and grant writing for new initiatives. Developing community forums where Anatra provided leadership on key industry subjects. And developing new partnerships and relationships that lead to Anatra's products being sold in new customer segments.
